Australian musician Peter Shurley will be giving a free concert in aid of child sponsorship organisation Tear Fund this weekend. The multi-award winning singersongwriter, instrumentalist and producer will perform at the Greenlane Christian Centre at 6.30pm on Sunday. With the recent release of his 17th CD, Carry You, Mr Shurley is considered one of Australia’s most sought-after gospel artists for his his electric violin skills. The Tasmanian says he regards New Zealand as a home away from home. ‘‘I just love New Zealand audiences, they seem to connect well with my music and I enjoy the opportunity to share my heart for the poor with them as I play.’’ Sunday’s concert is free but donations are welcome.
