That’s the message Deaf Aotearoa is sending during New Zealand Sign Language Week, which runs until Sunday.
This year marks the seventh time Deaf Aotearoa has run the week promoting sign language as an official language of New Zealand and raising awareness about the deaf community.
To celebrate it is calling on all New Zealanders to learn 25 signs through an online taster class.
Visit nzslweek.org.nz this week to watch inter- active clips and learn how to sign everyday words and phrases.
Plus, everyone who takes part in the online taster class can enter a quiz on the website and be in to win great prizes.
Deaf Aotearoa also has a range of resources to promote the week and its online shop shop.deaf. org.nz sells T-shirts, tool kits, booklets and other resources.
Deaf Aotearoa is the national service provider for Deaf people in New Zealand.
