It is described as one of the biggest planning jobs in Auckland’s history so perhaps unsurprisingly there is some confusion surrounding the much debated draft unitary plan.

In an effort to clear up some of the confusion stemming from the plan – which seeks to replace the previous district plans of the eight legacy councils – Auckland Council has turned to ‘‘myth busting’’.

‘‘Misinformation is being spread about the draft Auckland unitary plan, which is causing misunderstanding and unnecessary concern among our communities,’’ a spokeswoman says.

The opportunity to have your say on the plan ends on May 31.
