Sem­i­nar of­fers tips to avoid ‘dis­ease of debt’

A sem­i­nar to help peo­ple who are strug­gling with their fi­nances is be­ing held later this month.

The free fi­nan­cial health check is be­ing run by Bap­tist Sav­ings, a non­profit or­gan­i­sa­tion ded­i­cated to teach­ing peo­ple how best to re­duce their debt and man­age their per­sonal fi­nances.

The sem­i­nar is run by Bap­tist Sav­ings busi­ness de­vel­op­ment man­ager An­drew L’Al­mont.

Mr L’Al­mont has worked in the bank­ing and fi­nance in­dus­try for more than 36 years and is a reg­is­tered fi­nan­cial ad­viser. He is pas­sion­ate about tack­ling the ‘‘dis­ease of debt’’ and teach­ing peo­ple how to take con­trol of their fi­nances in or­der to live happy lives with much less stress.

Dur­ing the sem­i­nar Mr L’Al­mont will give hon­est, im­par­tial ad­vice about man­ag­ing money and help peo­ple come up with a plan of ac­tion for get­ting out of debt.

Ev­ery­one is in­vited to at­tend, whether or not they are a mem­ber of the church.

The free fi­nan­cial health sem­i­nar will be held on May 28 from 7.30pm at Hills­bor­ough Bap­tist Church, 179 Hills­bor­ough Rd.
