Lions outclass the Bears
History is repeating itself in round eight of the Alliance Shed Fox Memorial Cup as the Glenora Bears were humbled by the Mt Albert Lions.
Mt Albert’s Tee Mahe was firing on all cylinders and when he crossed for his second try, the Lions were at 34-0.
Another try on the stroke of halftime made it 40-0 and Harold Moody Park was starting to empty out. In the end the Lions finished things off at 62-8.
The weekend wasn’t a victorious one for either the Bay Roskill Vikings or Marist Saints, who were trounced by the Northcote Tigers and Papakura Sea Eagles respectively.
Mt Albert stays at the top of the table after round eight, with the Saints seventh and Bay Roskill at the bottom.
