Class­mates try out wheel­chairs

Martin says. J Rock is a pri­mary school ver­sion of the Stage Chal­lenge.

‘‘Be­ing an avid watcher of the tele­vi­sion show Glee I thought it might be a cool idea to do what they did with all the kids danc­ing in chairs,’’ Miss Martin says.

The stu­dents are per­form­ing tonight at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Cen­tre, and are do­ing one of their dances in wheel­chairs.

Six chairs were loaned to the school by dis­abil­ity care equip­ment com­pany In­vacare.

Teach­ers de­cided get­ting their stu­dents to spend time in them in the lead up to the show would be a good eye­opener.
