Glau­coma theme of free sem­i­nar

Health pro­fes­sion­als es­ti­mate that 50 per cent of peo­ple af­fected by glau­coma don’t re­alise they have it, un­til it’s too late.

Early de­tec­tion is es­sen­tial and reg­u­lar eye health ex­am­i­na­tions by an op­tometrist will as­sess whether some­one has glau­coma or is at risk of de­vel­op­ing it.

Glau­coma New Zealand is hold­ing a free pub­lic meet­ing at 10am on July 20 in Green­lane.

Oph­thal­mol­o­gist Dr Mark Don­ald­son will speak about glau­coma and treat­ment op­tions.

Reg­is­ter with Glau­coma New Zealand to re­ceive a pack con­tain­ing in­for­ma­tion and a DVD about glau­coma, as well as a copy of the Eye­lights news­let­ter.

The sem­i­nar is at the Alexan­dra Park Func­tion Cen­tre, Green Lane West, Gate B, Ruther­ford Room, Level 2.
