The National List MP based in Epsom, Paul Goldsmith, is the new chairman of Parliament’s Finance and Expenditure Select Committee.

He replaces Todd McClay who has been promoted to Minister of Revenue.

‘‘To be made chair of the Finance and Expenditure Committee midway through my first term as an MP is an honour, and I’m grateful to have been given this opportunity,’’ Mr Goldsmith says.

The Finance and Expenditure Committee is responsible for Parliament’s audit of the financial statements of the Government, Government finance, revenue and taxation. It hears submissions on bills and considers all relevant legislation.
