If you are between 15 and 25 and want experience as an actor, designer, stage manager or technician, registrations are open for the The Young & Hungry Festival of New Theatre.
The festival is a chance for up-and coming performers and production crew to participate in a professionally mentored season of new plays. The festival runs from September 25 to October 12 at The Basement theatre.
Auditions will be held this month and rehearsals will start the week of August 12.
The Young and Hungry Arts Trust is a charitable organisation founded in 1994 in association with BATS Theatre. It arose out of a need to provide young people with opportunities to gain hands-on experience within a professional structure.
Many people who started out at Young and Hungry have become accomplished theatre practitioners, playwrights and film professionals, including Taika Waititi ( Boy), Brett McKenzie ( Flight of the Concords) and Michelle Ang ( Neighbours).
