Fairfax Media internships open

Central Leader - - NEWS -

Applications are now open for the Fairfax Media 2013-2014 Journalism Intern Scheme.

Group executive editor Paul Thompson says the media industry is facing challenges but journalism remains a career of huge variety and opportunity.

The intern scheme was launched in 2006 and has proved highly successful.

Successful applicants will undergo a year’s training in 2014 at a leading journalism school and will join Fairfax publications or websites after graduating.

The scheme also offers participants work experience during course holidays at Fairfax publications; employment with a Fairfax publication at the conclusion of the course; ongoing training and career development.

Participants who successfully complete their courses will be reimbursed for their fees and bonded to Fairfax for two years. Applications close on July 26. Fairfax Media is the owner of Suburban Newspapers and the Central Leader.
