Highly regarded autism expert Stephen Shore is heading to New Zealand for a series of seminars.
Autism New Zealand is hosting Dr Shore and he will give seminars in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Diagnosed with atypical development and strong autistic tendencies and considered ‘‘too sick’’ for outpatient treatment, Dr Shore was recommended for institutionalisation. He was non-verbal until four.
But with much support, he is now a professor at Adelphi University, New York.
This will be his only New Zealand seminar tour. He will speak at the Mt Albert War Memorial Hall, from 9am till 1pm on July 31.
