Studying as a pathway to self-employment
The new semester for New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine (NZCCM) courses starts on July 29. New students will begin their studies in:
1. Bachelor of Health Science: Chinese Medicine – a four 4 year degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.
2. Bachelor of Health Science: Acupuncture – a three year degree.
3. Diploma in Chinese Health Studies - over one year.
4. Certificate in Foundation Studies for Health Maintenance – over 20 weeks.
The majority of NZCCM’s graduates move to selfemployment after successfully studying for their degrees.
The College has staff available to assist new students with every step of the process of enrolment and preparation to start studying.
Whether it is making sure that all your documentation is in order, helping you to negotiate the student loan process, advising on where to buy textbooks or helping you to settle in to full-time study, the College has experienced people whose job it is to make sure you get every possible assistance to make the transition to studying Chinese Medicine.
At Orientation Week, on July 29, all students come in to the college where they get: a student handbook; a tour of the campus; a meeting with the staff; introduction to Chinese Medicine; advice on things like student welfare, how to deal with government departments like Public Trust and Studylink; familiarisation with our library and computer access; advice on where and how to get textbooks; student services and support; demonstrations; class visits; and conversations with the academic team
Graduation Day: 28 NZCCM students recently graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) majoring in Chinese Medicine or Acupuncture.
