Canteen cranks it
Calling all cycling enthusiasts – New Zealand’s biggest indoor cycling effort for CanTeen is about to get cranking.
The Crank is a mass indoor RPM® cycling event and fundraiser coming to The Cloud on September 13.
More than 1100 people took part in 2012 and this year CanTeen aims to get 1500 cycling and fitness enthusiasts, corporates and sports teams involved in the challenge.
About 180 RPM® bikes will fill The Cloud, on Queens Wharf.
CanTeen’s national marketing manager Kimberley Waters says the event will be a fun and challenging way to support young people who are living with cancer.
‘‘We encourage anyone who’s up for a bit of hard work and sweat to get involved,’’ she says.
Event registration covers the cost to put on the event, so in order to raise money for CanTeen participants are encouraged to fundraise.
CanTeen is the only New Zealand peer support organisation for young people aged 13 to 24 living with cancer as a patient, sibling or bereaved sibling.
Entries are now open to take part in the biggest indoor cycling event this country has ever seen.
The Crank offers a 6-hour challenge and 12-hour challenge or you can take part as an individual.
