Grammar Carlton on a roll
Grammar Carlton are proving they are a big threat for rugby’s premier league Gallaher Shield with a 20-11 win over College Rifles in the quarterfinals on July 20.
The 2012 Gallaher Shield champions didn’t get off to the start they would have liked this season, losing to Suburbs in round one. But since then they have produced some huge performances, none more so than against their quarterfinal opponents.
They will face Pakuranga at Bell Park on Saturday.
In their playoff for the Portola Trophy, Eden managed a 24-13 win over East Tamaki and go head-to-head with Otahuhu at Gribblehirst Park on Saturday. Gallaher Shield playoff results: Grammar Carlton 20 (S Watkins, O Tu’ungafasi tries, S Hickey 2 con, 2 pen)
