A trio of Three Kings United foot­ballers will take to the field with the Ju­nior Ferns for a three-match se­ries against Aus­tralia kick­ing off this week.

Mar­tine Puke­tapu, Jas­mine Pereira and Emily Jensen play for Three Kings’ first team in the Lotto NRFL Women’s Pre­mier League.

The team is now joint sec­ond in the top six.

The trio were all mem­bers of the New Zealand Young Football Ferns side which com­peted at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azer­bai­jan.

Each of the young play­ers have an at­tack­ing men­tal­ity, Three Kings United coach An­drew Clay says.

‘‘Emily, Jas­mine and Mar­tine con­tinue a long tra­di­tion of sig­nif­i­cant Three Kings United rep­re­sen­ta­tion in national teams.’’

The New Zealand un­der-20 women’s 20-strong squad is tak­ing on their Aus­tralian coun­ter­parts in two cen­tral Auck­land matches.

The first is to­mor­row at Ki­witea St, the sec­ond on Mon­day at Sed­don Fields – 2.30pm kick-off for both.
