The first version of the show premiered in 1879 – and the story remains a favourite on stages throughout the world today.

‘‘It’s so completely accessible,’’ producer Ben McDonald says.

‘‘It’s one of their funniest. And it has some of the most terrific musical moments ever. It’s a very bright, filled with sunshine, moonlight and romance kind of show, with completely silly people.’’

Tickets can also be bought through Ticketmaster.
