Paint ball works to be sold

Auck­lan­ders will be given a unique op­por­tu­nity to paint the town red this week­end.

As part of the build-up to Red Nose Day later this month there are galas hap­pen­ing across the coun­try in con­junc­tion with Jono and Ben’s: Bluff­ing their way to the Cape cy­cle tour.

The Red Nose Gala Day will be hit­ting Auck­land’s Aotea Square on Sun­day.

As part of the cel­e­bra­tions Tele­com will be bring­ing along its Splat­ters that Mat­ter van be­tween 11am and 1.30pm.

The van comes equipped with a gi­ant paint ball fir­ing ma­chine.

In re­turn for a do­na­tion mem­bers of the pub­lic will be given the op­por­tu­nity to splat­ter a large blank can­vas to co-cre­ate a spe­cial piece of art­work.

On Red Nose Day, which is Au­gust 23, the re­sult­ing art­work from the Aotea Square gala will be placed on TradeMe, along with can­vases from the rest of the North Is­land.

Money raised from the auc­tion will go di­rectly to Cure Kids.

Cure Kids is an or­gan­i­sa­tion with a man­date to find cures for lifethreat­en­ing ill­nesses that af­fect many Kiwi chil­dren.
