Imitation military grade guns were found by police searching the home of a member of the Hells Angels Nomad Outlaw Motorcycle Gang in central Auckland. Four imitation weapons, including two AK47 assault rifles, a Thompson .45 sub machine gun, and a Schmiesser MP38 sub machine gun were seized during the raid last week. The firearms are being examined and charges may follow. It comes after an incident in June in which a member of the public was intimidated by a gang member, Organised Financial Crime Agency Motorcycle Gang Unit Detective Senior Sergeant Lloyd Schmid says. ‘‘Police would like to reassure the community that they will swiftly respond to any incidents involving intimidation by gang members, which should be reported promptly so we can take appropriate action.’’ Clothing emblazoned with the Hells Angels New Zealand logo was also taken during the search and police would also like to speak to a 30-year-old professional kickboxer who lived at the house until recently.
