Ap­pli­ca­tions for fund­ing now open

Ap­pli­ca­tions are open for fund­ing for projects with an en­vi­ron­men­tal or her­itage fo­cus.

The Auck­land Coun­cil’s En­vi­ron­men­tal Ini­tia­tives Fund grants up to $15,000 to non profit or­gan­i­sa­tions pro­vided they can meet half of the pro­ject cost.

‘‘Whether it’s his­toric her­itage restora­tion projects, pest erad­i­ca­tion pro­grammes, or stream plant­ings, we en­cour­age ev­ery­one work­ing on a worth­while and mean­ing­ful pro­ject to ap­ply,’’ coun­cil’s en­vi­ron­men­tal ser­vices man­ager Gael Ogilvie says.

Bal­moral’s St Al­ban’s Angli­can Church re­ceived $6,739 from the 2012 fund to­wards ur­gent paint­ing work.
