Fi­nan­cial work­shop for young women

The YWCA is hop­ing to em­power young women in money mat­ters with a fi­nan­cial lit­er­acy work­shop.

A re­cent sur­vey of 18 to 20-year-olds re­vealed that more than half the peo­ple ques­tioned had given no thought to their spend­ing habits, ways to man­age their money or fi­nan­cial goals, while two thirds are still not sav­ing term.

With that in mind, YWCA Auck­land is pre­sent­ing Money Talks – fi­nan­cial lit­er­acy work­shops for young women, spon­sored by Women in Su­per.

Women be­tween the ages of 17 and 25 are in­vited to join the work­shop to hear from fi­nan­cial ex­perts.

Group dis­cus­sion and ques­tions will be en­cour­aged.

The Money Talks work­shop is on Septem­ber 4, 5.30pm-7.30pm, at 21 Scan­lan St, Grey Lynn.

Spa­ces are limited, reg­is­ter by Septem­ber 2 to en­sure a spot.
