Onehunga-mangere end Oratia’s hopes
An Onehunga-Mangere United win in football’s Lotto Northern League Second Division has put a stop to Oratia United’s promotion hopes.
Two goals apiece from Hayden Cleere and Ben Marumaru saw them down the West Auckland club 4-2 at Mangere Domain.
In Lotto Northern Premier League action, Three Kings United edged Bay Olympic 3-2 to remain on course for a third-placed finish.
Goals from Blair Konik, Mikhail Bredeveldt and Dylan Stansfield saw United prevail at Olympic Park, where James Pritchett and Craig Wylie were on target for the home team.
Four central Auckland teams are involved in matches this weekend as the 2013 season draws to a close.
In the Premier League on Saturday, Central United visit Waitakere City, who need a point to avoid relegation, while Onehunga Sports and Three Kings clash at Keith Hay Park.
In Saturday’s Second Division action, Onehunga-Mangere and Lynn-Avon lock horns at Ken Maunder Park from 2.45pm.
