Get ready for dig­i­tal

It’s three months un­til tele­vi­sion in Auck­land goes dig­i­tal. To help peo­ple make the switch, Go­ing Dig­i­tal will be out and about in the com­mu­nity with free ad­vice on how to keep watch­ing your favourite shows. ‘‘Auck­land goes dig­i­tal on De­cem­ber 1 and if you want to keep watch­ing tele­vi­sion you need to have Free­view, Sky or Igloo be­fore then,’’ Go­ing Dig­i­tal national man­ager Greg Har­ford says. ‘‘Check that your friends and fam­ily also know what they need to do. ‘‘You don’t need a new tele­vi­sion but, de­pend­ing on where you live, you may need ei­ther a UHF aerial and a UHF set-top box, or a satel­lite dish and a satel­lite set-top box.’’ Peo­ple can check what ser­vices are avail­able on­line at go­ingdig­i­tal.co.nz/my­house, or by call­ing 0800 838 800. The Go­ing Dig­i­tal team will also be vis­it­ing cen­tral Auck­land. On Septem­ber 10 they will be at the Mt Roskill Count­down from 9am to 12pm and the Bal­moral Ware­house from 1pm to 5pm. On Septem­ber 11 they will be at the Royal Oak Ware­house from 11am to 3pm.
