Get ready for digital
It’s three months until television in Auckland goes digital. To help people make the switch, Going Digital will be out and about in the community with free advice on how to keep watching your favourite shows. ‘‘Auckland goes digital on December 1 and if you want to keep watching television you need to have Freeview, Sky or Igloo before then,’’ Going Digital national manager Greg Harford says. ‘‘Check that your friends and family also know what they need to do. ‘‘You don’t need a new television but, depending on where you live, you may need either a UHF aerial and a UHF set-top box, or a satellite dish and a satellite set-top box.’’ People can check what services are available online at goingdigital.co.nz/myhouse, or by calling 0800 838 800. The Going Digital team will also be visiting central Auckland. On September 10 they will be at the Mt Roskill Countdown from 9am to 12pm and the Balmoral Warehouse from 1pm to 5pm. On September 11 they will be at the Royal Oak Warehouse from 11am to 3pm.
