Open day a chance to walk Onehunga Bay

Central Leader - - NEWS -

Onehunga Bay’s new coastline is now rapidly taking shape – it is even visible in satellite images taken from space.

An open day to give the community the chance to check progress on the $28 million foreshore restoration will be held this week- end. If you attend make sure you wear appropriate clothing. Safety is paramount and visitors should wear sturdy, closed-in shoes.

Be aware that the pathway through the site has a loose and uneven gravel surface. Expect mud if there’s rain. The walk around the middle section of the site takes 10 to 15 minutes. The project team will be there to answer questions.

The open day is on Sunday from noon to 2pm.

Go to the Manukau Cruising Club car park to begin the tour.
