Dogs on path

On Christ­mas Day I was cy­cling on the Te Atatu Penin­sula coastal path.

There are signs ev­ery­where mak­ing clear where dogs can and can­not go freely, and a huge grassy area near the car park where they can run around at will.

The coastal path is a na­ture re­serve and rare na­tive fern­birds and banded rails nest in the salt­marsh. Dogs are re­quired to be on a leash there at all times.
