Mindless destruction

Central Leader - - NEWS -

On my way home from my walk at 7.30am on a Sunday morning, I noticed a large box outside the Salvation Army furniture shop off Dominion Rd. The top was open and I saw it was full of dolls. As a doll collector myself, I was interested to have a look. I counted at least 20 good sized dolls plus some smaller ones. Some were dressed and there were other toys for dolls as well.

On the Monday morning at the same time I noticed as I walked past that nearly all the dolls had been stolen and those left were minus their heads which were missing. Such mindless destruction! Did the culprits give a thought to the enjoyment that some children would have from receiving one of these dolls? If only the person who left the dolls had read the notice by the shop which asks for all out of hours donations to be left in Ewington Rd, only two streets away, where they would be looked after.
