Mu­si­cian’s path leads him here

Cana­dian mu­si­cian Dan Bremnes has fol­lowed the sun to the South­ern Hemi­sphere to play a free con­cert later this month.

Mr Bremnes is an award­win­ning artist who has wowed au­di­ences all over the globe.

Last year he was cho­sen as a grand prize win­ner of an in­ter­na­tional singing com­pe­ti­tion and won awards for Male Vo­cal­ist of the Year and Mu­sic Video of the Year at the 35th an­nual Covenant Awards in Canada.

His first full-length al­bum Your Strength was re­leased in 2010 and has re­ceived wide ra­dio play across Canada and Aus­tralia.

The Fol­low the Sun tour brings Mr Bremnes dow­nun­der to play a con­cert in Mt Al­bert next weekend.

TEAR Fund event or­gan­iser Gavin McCul­loch is thrilled to be bring­ing the ac­claimed artist to New Zealand.

‘‘We are ex­cep­tion­ally ex­cited to have such a ta­lented and in­spi­ra­tional artist come to our shores,’’ he says.

‘‘Dan is a breath of fresh air, and we love his pas­sion for his art form as well as for the work he does, bring­ing to light the is­sues im­pov­er­ished chil­dren face all around the world.’’

As well as per­form­ing his mu­sic Mr Bremnes will share his ex­pe­ri­ences from his re­cent trip to the Do­mini­can Repub­lic where he was able to meet his spon­sor child, Wan­der.

The Fol­low the Sun con­cert is on Jan­uary 26 from 10am at Mt Al­bert Church at 732 New North Rd. En­try is free, how­ever do­na­tions are wel­come.
