Bound­ary changes

Res­i­dents of the Mt Roskill elec­torate have come out against pro­posed elec­torate bound­ary changes. The Rep­re­sen­ta­tion Com­mis­sion re­ported hav­ing more than 409 ob­jec­tions to bound­ary changes from a to­tal of 1700 sub­mis­sions. There were 128 ob­jec­tions in Mt Roskill. The ma­jor­ity op­posed an area within the ex­ist­ing Ep­som elec­torate mov­ing into the Mt Roskill elec­torate, with many sup­port­ing the present bound­ary be­tween the two elec­torates along Land­scape and Sel­wyn roads. The to­tal num­ber of ob­jec­tions re­ceived from the Auck­land elec­torates to­talled 258. The com­mis­sion plans to hold pub­lic hear­ings be­tween Fe­bru­ary 10 and 19. The fi­nal bound­aries will be made pub­lic on April 17.
