Residents of the Mt Roskill electorate have come out against proposed electorate boundary changes. The Representation Commission reported having more than 409 objections to boundary changes from a total of 1700 submissions. There were 128 objections in Mt Roskill. The majority opposed an area within the existing Epsom electorate moving into the Mt Roskill electorate, with many supporting the present boundary between the two electorates along Landscape and Selwyn roads. The total number of objections received from the Auckland electorates totalled 258. The commission plans to hold public hearings between February 10 and 19. The final boundaries will be made public on April 17.
