Col­lec­tion help needed in March

The Child Can­cer Foun­da­tion needs vol­un­teers to col­lect for Beads of Courage Day on Fri­day, March 21.

The Beads of Courage Day is a vi­tal part of Child Can­cer ap­peal month which runs through­out March.

The foun­da­tion aims to raise $6 mil­lion an­nu­ally to help chil­dren with can­cer and their fam­i­lies.

The foun­da­tion pro­vides prac­ti­cal one-onone sup­port tai­lored to the dif­fer­ent needs of each fam­ily.

No child

can­cer jour­ney is the same.

Fam­ily sup­port co­or­di­na­tors as­sist each child and their fam­ily from di­ag­no­sis, through treat­ment and be­yond.

The av­er­age length of treat­ment for the most com­mon form of childhood can­cer, acute lym­phoblas­tic leukaemia, is three years for girls and three-and-ahalf years for boys.
