Auckland on board
A top position has been created at Auckland Rugby League to maximise the organisation’s commercial potential. Former Warriors assistant coach John Ackland joined the team as chief executive on February 3. The new role will include managing relationships between the New Zealand Warriors, Auckland Council and the Regional Sports Trust Alliance as well as overseeing the Government’s review of Auckland and New Zealand rugby league. ARL board chairman Dene Biddlecombe says Ackland is a perfect fit.
