One of the world’s best-known farm­ers will speak at a lunch in South Auck­land this month.

Time mag­a­zine de­scribed Joel Salatin of Vir­ginia in the United States as the world’s most in­no­va­tive farmer.

He is speak­ing at the first Auck­land South Busi­ness Lunch for 2014 when he is in New Zealand for a Fields of Farm­ers speak­ing tour. His pre­sen­ta­tion is said to ap­peal to busi­ness peo­ple and his farm­ing phi­los­o­phy has rel­e­vance for farm­ers to­day and any­one in­volved in buy­ing, grow­ing and eat­ing food.

He has al­ready en­ter­tained au­di­ences in Aus­tralia by shar­ing how con­sumers can en­gage with the ru­ral sec­tor and how farm­ers can take con­trol of pro­duc­tion, suc­ces­sion, pro­cess­ing, dis­tri­bu­tion and mar­ket­ing.
