Auckland City FC wrapped up the round-robin phase of the ASB Premiership in recordshattering style against Southern United in Dunedin on Sunday.

The 10-0 win makes Auckland the first team to score a double-figure victory in the 10-year history of the competition.

Emiliano Tade opened the scoring and scored again early in the second half. The remaining goals were put in by new signing Joao Moreira, Darren White, Takuya Iwata, Adam Dickinson, Chris Bale, Andrew Milne and Ryan De Vries.

City’s final game of pool play is against second-placed Hawke’s Bay United at Napier’s Bluewater Stadium on Saturday.

The club’s youth side did not perform as strongly, suffering a rare stumble when WaiBOP United held them to a scoreless draw in their Northern Conference clash at John Kerkhof Park on Saturday.

They head to Centre Park on Sunday to take on Auckland United where a win would book them a spot in the ASB National Youth League grand final.
