Stu­dents fight hard for re­gatta row­ing wins

Hun­dreds of stu­dents from al­most 40 Auck­land schools took to the wa­ter at Lake Pupuke on Satur­day for the New Zealand Head of Har­bour re­gatta.

as

the Auck­land sec­ondary schools cham­pi­onships and gets row­ers ready for the na­tional cham­pi­onship Maadi Cup in March.

Crews from Mt Al­bert Gram­mar, Auck­land Gram­mar, Ep­som Girls Gram­mar and Dioce­san School for Girls came home with mul­ti­ple ti­tles.

Mt Al­bert won the boys’ un­der-18 cox­less pair and the boys’ un­der-18 coxed four, and Auck­land Gram­mar took out the boys’ un­der-17 and un­der- 18 coxed eight ti­tles. Ep­som took out the girls’ un­der-18, un­der-17 and un­der-16 coxed eight races and Dioce­san won the girls’ un­der-17 and un­der16 coxed quad sculls and the girls’ un­der-18 sin­gle race.
