Tade hat-trick seals City win
Auckland City FC is one step closer to their goal of bringing the ASB Premiership title home to Kiwitea St for the first time in four years.
The Navy Blues overpowered Hawkes Bay United 4-1 in 30-degree heat at Bluewater Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors started strongly but only had Emiliano Tade’s 35thminute goal to show for their efforts at halftime. Two goals in as many minutes from Darren White and Tade just after the hour mark secured City’s unassailable lead.
Tade completed his hat-trick eight minutes from time and put himself well in charge of the Golden Boot stakes.
City will face archrivals Waitakere on Sunday at Fred Taylor Park.
The clubs’ ASB National Youth League sides will also clash at the same venue on Sunday.
Auckland City’s youth side needs to avoid defeat to be named Northern Conference Champions and head to the finals against Nelson Marlborough Falcons in mid-March.
