Auc­tion to raise funds for cause

A be­hind the scenes Short­land Street tour is up for grabs to help raise money for the sex­ual abuse sup­port ser­vice HELP.

The fi­nan­cially stretched ser­vice is hold­ing its an­nual Colour Me Pur­ple char­ity auc­tion on March 20.

Other prizes for guests to bid on in­clude a beauty makeover pack­age in­clud­ing a styling ses­sion with Lor­raine Downs and a ra­dio morn­ing ex­pe­ri­ence with The Edge hosts.

Jazz band YFO, in­clud­ing for­mer Auck­land Gram­mar School stu­dents, will join cel- ebrity en­ter­tain­ers guests en­ter­tained.

HELP was formed 32 years ago as the Auck­land Sex­ual Abuse HELP Foun­da­tion af­ter doc­tors and po­lice iden­ti­fied a need for spe­cialised sup­port for sur­vivors of sex­ual abuse and as­sault.

It of­fers sup­port for women and chil­dren, a 24 hour cri­sis ser­vice and a pre-school preven­tion pro­gramme.

The auc­tion is from 6.30pm at the KPMG Cor­po­rate Board­room, 18 Viaduct Har­bour Ave. Tick­ets are limited to 150 and cost $60.
