Auck­land City clash with Welling­ton

This weekend is go­ing to be a big one for Auck­land City FC.

They will take on Team Welling­ton in the ASB Pre­mier­ship grand fi­nal at Ki­witea St this Sun­day af­ter beat­ing Waitakere United 4-1 on Satur­day.

Andrew Milne swept home the open­ing goal af­ter 15 min­utes and Chris Bale dou­bled the Navy Blues’ lead later in the first half.

Emil­iano Tade drove home a penalty just three min­utes be­fore half­time.

Waitakere cap­tain Jake But­ler was sent off in the shad­ows of the half­time whis­tle and Tade made it 4-0 just min­utes into the sec­ond half.

United ral­lied and sub­sti­tute Richie Car­dozo net­ted a con­so­la­tion goal 19 min­utes from time.

This weekend Auck­land will be look­ing to claim the ti­tle for the fifth time in the club’s his­tory while Welling­ton will be aim­ing for a maiden crown.

Auck­land City also main­tained their in­cred­i­ble record in ASB Na­tional Youth League by down­ing Hawke’s Bay United 5-2 at Seddon Fields on Satur­day.

Ni­co­las Zam­brano scored four goals for City in the open­ing 35 min­utes.

The young charges will take on Nel­son Marl­bor­ough Fal­cons at Trafal­gar Park on Satur­day as they bid to win back-to-back ti­tles.
