Eden Park

Central Leader - - OPINION -

Thank you for the front page article on the threatened development of Eden Park ( Central Leader, February 28).

We moved to Mt Eden 58 years ago from Ellerslie and were astonished at our proximity to inner Auckland.

Now I lie awake to the din from the Speedway in Grey Lynn. I am grateful that the wind does not often set this way.

But I wonder at the lack of foresight shown by our forefathers in putting the stadium there in the first place.

Inner-city residents should be aware that freedom is only available at the price of eternal vigilance.

Where do these people live, who are planning to destroy the peace of this neighbourhood?
