Singing kids needed

The hills of Auck­land are set to come alive with The Sound of Mu­sic.

Kiwi kids are needed to bring the much-loved mu­si­cal to life when it hits New Zealand’s shores in Oc­to­ber.

The crit­i­cally ac­claimed West End pro­duc­tion is com­ing and fea­tures seven chil­dren that form the Von Trapp fam­ily.

Pro­duc­ers are look­ing to cast six of these chil­dren in New Zealand.

Two male and four fe­male roles will be au­di­tioned for in Wel- ling­ton and next month.

‘‘This is an ex­cit­ing op­por­tu­nity for lo­cal talent to star in an in­ter­na­tional and West End block­buster,’’ pro­ducer James Cun­dall says.

‘‘We are look­ing for 18 chil­dren in to­tal to play six roles in this fam­ily mu­si­cal and en­cour­age as­pir­ing young ac­tors and ac­tresses of the right height to come along and au­di­tion.’’
