The news that Grey Lynn is about to shift from Auck­land Cen­tral into Mount Al­bert elec­torate has a strange deja-vu about it.

Grey Lynn had its own elec­torate un­til its abo­li­tion in 1978, when it was ab­sorbed into those two ex­ist­ing ad­join­ing con­stituen­cies.

Nowa­days with MMP fewer gen­eral elec­torates are re­quired (once 80, now 65 or there­abouts), so I ex­pect
