Apart from wear­ing your seat-belt, not be­ing drunk or drugged and stick­ing to the speed limit, people can fol­low these rules to keep safe.

Make sure your fol­low­ing dis­tance is at least two sec­onds in dry con­di­tions and four sec­onds when wet.

Don’t drive tired, take reg­u­lar breaks and pull over for a 15 minute power nap if sleepy. Keep your eyes and mind on the road. Put your head­lights on if it’s rain­ing or murky. Let oth­ers pass safely. Pull over to let ve­hi­cles pass when it’s safe.
