About 400 garments are in the competition. This year’s theme is Around the World.
‘‘It is about celebrating our city and the unique origins of those that live here,’’ organisers say.
Regional semifinals will be held in June with the finalist showcase in August.
Young designers can enter online at st2f.co.nz and entries close on June 16.
