Build a great community

What do you like best about Sandringham?

We love the mix in Sandringham, fancy places, casual places, loads of different cultures, it’s all here. It’s a great place to explore, to eat out and it’s easy on the eye.

How long have you lived here and where are you originally from?

Cazador has made Sandringham its home for almost three decades. Apart from our stint abroad, we’ve been here for ages.

What do you like least and how can we fix it?

We’re trying to get a neighbourly vibe going at our res- taurant – we want locals to be our regulars, to eat, drink and socialise with the people they live near. That feeling of community is what makes a place resonate with people, and it’s what Sandringham could be really good at.

Who does the best fish ’n chips in Sandringham?

We haven’t tried fish ’n chips in Sandringham, but Shefco’s is our go-to for takeaways.

Who is the Kiwi you admire the most and why?

Our mums are pretty great Kiwis. They’re crazy busy ladies but they’re so generous with their time, always thinking of others.

If we had the chance to be Auckland’s mayor, we would...

Put cycle lanes on Dominion Rd.

If we have a free few hours we like to...

Go to Meredith’s! It’s exquisite food and hospitality.

The spot in Sandringham we would recommend to tourists is...

Grab some dumplings from New Flavour, then get a takeaway red date tea from Hulucat on Dominion Rd, head up Mt Eden summit for some city gazing and slurping

of said tea.

Rebecca and Dariush:

Love Sandringham.
