What is Christianity?

Belief in the Trinity: God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Belief that Jesus Christ was the son of God.

People can get to know God through prayer, worship, love and mystical experiences. There are a wide range of Christian denominations.

What does being Christian mean to you?

It means everything. I was raised in a Christian family, my parents and grandparents were Salvation Army officers. I was a bank manager until I was 26 then I had a personal encounter with God which changed all my values.

Instead of looking after people’s money I turned to looking after people. Money caused so much pain in people’s lives so I had to decide if I wanted to spend the rest of my life grappling with those issues.

How do you practise it in your daily life?

I try to keep God awareness throughout the day and try to be sensitive to people’s needs.

I seek to bring integrity and excellence to this role.

I spend one hour in prayer every day and another hour studying the Bible.
