Islam in all aspects of my life. Islam for me is not only a ritual or some prayers, everything is Islam.

How do you practise it in your daily life?

I pray five times a day: two hours before sunrise, midday, afternoon, during sunset and 90 minutes after sunset for five to 15 minutes each time. I eat only halal. I keep away from the sins and practise honesty. I also take part in zakat – compulsory charity – where Muslims donate 2.5 per cent of their annual savings to the poor and needy through the mosque.

Proud Muslim: Salih Abdullah is a member of Al Mustafa mosque and lives in Onehunga.
