A Pen­rose based com­pany has won six awards in its first time com­pet­ing at the New Zealand Ice Cream Awards. The com­pany only started mak­ing ice­cream last year for its Kiwi Kiss Restau­rant. Sold un­der the brand New Zealand Best and Pure, the com­pany walked off with the Best Over­all award in the Open Cre­ative cat­e­gories for both the ice cream and sor­bet/gelato sec­tions for its white choco­late and wasabi ice cream. In the Open Cre­ative ice­cream class New Zealand Best and Pure won two golds for its white choco­late and wasabi ice cream and for its ap­ple short­cake ice­cream. In the gelato cat­e­gory the brand took gold for its choco­late strac­ciatella gelato and two sil­ver awards for its Ital­ian ha­zlenut amaretto and or­ange strac­ciatella gelato.
