A Penrose based company has won six awards in its first time competing at the New Zealand Ice Cream Awards. The company only started making icecream last year for its Kiwi Kiss Restaurant. Sold under the brand New Zealand Best and Pure, the company walked off with the Best Overall award in the Open Creative categories for both the ice cream and sorbet/gelato sections for its white chocolate and wasabi ice cream. In the Open Creative icecream class New Zealand Best and Pure won two golds for its white chocolate and wasabi ice cream and for its apple shortcake icecream. In the gelato category the brand took gold for its chocolate stracciatella gelato and two silver awards for its Italian hazlenut amaretto and orange stracciatella gelato.
