Sec­ondary school stu­dents took part in the 23rd Shake­speare Globe Cen­tre New Zealand’s Na­tional Univer­sity of Otago Sheilah Winn Shake­speare Fes­ti­val in Welling­ton over Queen’s Birth­day Weekend. Stu­dents showed what Shake­speare means to them through mu­sic, art, and act­ing. Ep­som Girls’ Gram­mar School stu­dent Francesca Wil­son earned sec­ond place in the poster com­pe­ti­tion, with her art­work about Twelfth Night. St Cuth­bert’s Col­lege stu­dents picked up the Erica Bridg­man Award for the most cour­te­ous and co-op­er­a­tive school. They per­formed a five-minute stu­dent-di­rected scene from Henry VI Part III. Stu­dent Joanna Ji won third prize for her com­po­si­tion en­ti­tled Wil­low for Othello and Hayon Lee also picked up a third equal for a com­po­si­tion en­ti­tled Vil­lain for Richard III.
