Secondary school students took part in the 23rd Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand’s National University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival in Wellington over Queen’s Birthday Weekend. Students showed what Shakespeare means to them through music, art, and acting. Epsom Girls’ Grammar School student Francesca Wilson earned second place in the poster competition, with her artwork about Twelfth Night. St Cuthbert’s College students picked up the Erica Bridgman Award for the most courteous and co-operative school. They performed a five-minute student-directed scene from Henry VI Part III. Student Joanna Ji won third prize for her composition entitled Willow for Othello and Hayon Lee also picked up a third equal for a composition entitled Villain for Richard III.
