Central Leader - - NEWS -

A door knocker pretending to be an insurance agent and electricity salesman is causing concern.

Police have received three complaints about the man this month.

In one instance the man visited a Mt Roskill home claiming to be an insurance agent, insisted on seeing the resident’s insurance documents saying he could offer a better deal. The man reportedly visited another home claiming to be an electricity salesman and insisted on seeing the resident’s power bill and other personal details.

The alleged conman is described as Indian, aged between 30 and 40.

People should not be afraid to ask for identification from people visiting their homes to provide services, police say. They should also report suspicious behaviour.
