Central Leader - - NEWS -

A fundraising concert will take place on August 2 at St Matthewin-the-City for an organisation which supports families going through tough times.

The concert also coincides with the first national Loss & Grief Awareness Week.

Seasons Onehunga is a peer support programme for children experiencing significant grief and loss.

The programme, which is run during school and after-school, is based on seasons of the year so it is easy for children to understand.

The children involved are split into groups and led by a ‘‘companion’’ and go through resources.

The concert, Joyful Noise, aims to raise money for the project so it can continue the programme.

Performers on the night will include Cantemus Choir, Opera Factory, St Matthew’s organist Michael Bell, Macleans College Orchestra, King’s College Little Big Band, Late Night Jazz and students from Waikato Music School.

Tickets to the fundraising concert cost $30. Call 636 6368 to purchase tickets.
