LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Central Leader - - OPINION -

whole car clangs and bangs.

I now think these measures are put in place to try to force all traffic to stay on the main roads which in turn means the council doesn’t have to repair the side roads as often.

Forcing traffic onto the main roads just causes more traffic chaos.

What are side streets for except as shortcuts to a destination (and housing of course).

I also question your article as in ‘‘residents were consulted over the project and many were supportive’’.

Ignorance is bliss as I was supportive also until I had to live with one outside my house.

How about just putting up signs reducing the speed limit in these side streets and ticketing those who don’t comply?

Much cheaper and the council would make a bit of money for road repairs in these streets.
