Pain, migraine? Try acupuncture

Central Leader - - HEALTH& WELL-BEING -

Do you take over-the-counter medication for pain, sickness or migraine? Well, here’s a word of advice – don’t. You are only stopping the symptom, not removing the core problem, which could be a serious health issue. Plus, you are pumping your body with chemical formulations, with potentially harmful side effects.

There is a better way to deal with pain – acupuncture.

‘‘If health issues are impacting the quality of your life and your work, or your current medication is not improving your condition, then don’t worry, we will help,’’ Dr Ben Yung-pin Lian says.

Ben, who is the director at Meridian Acupuncture Health Centre in Mt Wellington, offers effective and affordable alternative solutions that could have you once again in good health. He is a qualified medical doctor and traditionally trained acupuncturist who bridges the east and west, offering the best of both streams of medicine.

Ben’s ACC-accredited clinic has treated patients suffering from various symptoms associated with a raft of medical issues, including injuries such as pains, burns and tendinitis, internal disorders like period pain, migraines, diabetes and high or low blood pressure, emotional disorders such as anxiety or depression and environment-related problems such as asthma and allergies.

Acupuncture can also be employed to assist weight loss, stop smoking and break drug or alcohol dependencies. The most common effects of acupuncture are better sleep, more energy, mental clarity, better digestion and less stress.

Meridian Acupuncture Health Centre is located at 156 Waipuna Road East in Mt Wellington.

Appointments are available Monday to Saturday, 9am till 6pm. Phone 527 0383 or 021 188 5566 to book your free consultation.
