Central Leader - - OPINION -

claiming Auckland as being the world’s most (desirable) liveable city, the prettylooking publicity machine is shown to be rather extremely wanting.

There are many persons living a lifetime in what was originally meant to be a ‘‘temporary period’’ of state housing. They treat these properties as their own, and many have never had to pay market rentals at all.

Given there are empty residences in Housing New Zealand’s Burch St block – now for quite several months’ vacant; shouldn’t these be reopened for many with temporary accommodation? As a NZ citizen, I am severely internally disabled, and have waited on a list for over 13 years whilst others from overseas gain over me.

Something is seriously wrong with this government’s continual inaction.
